There will be information stands, bands, speakers, vending, lots of friends you haven't met yet, drum circles, chanting, sharing, and hopefully good weather and mellow police/authority-types. Most likely there will be several worthy after event-events. This event usually attracts a few thousand people. If the weather stays nice, you can expect probably around three to five thousand people to show up. It COULD BE bigger, but that's up to you. This is an election year, how much longer do you want to look over your shoulders every time you light up? WHY: Because Cannabis is wonderful and people are sitting in jail right this minute for having, selling, using, or being a party to . . . Cannabis. Because right now, there are people whose suffering would be lessened if Cannabis were made available to them. Because there is power in numbers. Because pot is fun! WHERE: Madison, Wisconsin (Did you know the world's first RAYON was made from the processed fibers of hemp grown right here, in DANE COUNTY, WISCOSNIN?). . . all along State Street, tentatively starting at the Library Mall (the side closest to UW-Madison) and culminating (and I do mean culminating) at the State Capitol building steps. WHEN: Saturday, October 5th, 1996. Things usually kick off around 11am (yes, eleven IN THE MORNING folks hehehehe). peace, Jack
