The scientific events organized at this occasion will end in= =20 October 1996 with an international two-day conference on "The Future of Information Systems : Challenges and Pitfalls". =20 MOTIVATION =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D Faced with dramatic changes in their environment, organizations are forced to adapt their enterprise strategies and to shift to new organizational paradigms. In addition, the constant evolution of the information technology can enable these changes, but, at the same time, can induce too strong a pressure on the organization capability to evolve. This situation is true not only for private=20 organizations but also for public ones. As a strategic asset of the enterprise, the information system should support these changes and smoothe their impact. However, the current information=20 systems suffer from such deficiencies, such as their rigidity, that they sometimes prevent that organizational evolution.
