This directory contains files for the Galileo Project, which is led by Prof. Jim
Goodman, and staffed by Doug Burger, Alain Kagi, Stefanos Kaxiras, and Subbarao
Palacharla.

This project is attempting to identify fundamental and/or long-term impediments
to improving processor performance.  We hope to propose solutions to these 
impediments; both evolutionary solutions and some that are more radical.  Our
efforts currently focus on uniprocessor memory systems.  Some members of our
group are also involved with work related to the Scalable Coherent Interface
(SCI); an older project that is still ongoing.
