INSIGHTS OF AID Volunteers -------------------------------- We are going to have a "conference session", one afternoon in the meet. The idea is to make INSIGHTFUL presentations (10 minute + 5 minute discussion) on ANY idea or topic you may have that is in the genral direction of AID, or the poverty problem. Use this opportunity to present anything you feel strongly about or have some sort of vision about.... it could be very focussed like an interesting talk on the promises almost all people make while leaving a village for a city and a city for another country and why these unkept promises may be the key to the whole puzzle of poverty, or something about what you feel will happen if AID becomes big and doesn't inspire volunteers to become more environmentally conscious in their own living, or it could be something you want to present by which you feel AID can raise a million dollars next year, or it could be a project you have coordinated for your chapter and you want to present some key points, or it could even be a powerful poem of yours or a sincere and simple talk on a hard-working volunteer in your chapter and what we can all learn from him/her..... just anything under the sun on earth's orbit, deeply motivating, inspiring, educational, creative, thought-provoking.... the idea is to bring out your originality and passion! I think there will be many who will want to speak and some who will listen really intently! Please do the following if you want to talk: 1. By May 10 send me a summary of about 5 lines on what you want to talk. Based on this I will allot you a spot (We hope to accomadate ALL the people really interested in giving a serious presentation). 2. Write a "paper" of 1-4 pages and bring it to the Chapters meeting with you. We will photocopy it and distribute all the "Conference papers" to people. 3. Prepare a 10-minute talk on the paper. All three of the above are NECESSARY for you to present the talk at the Conference during the Chapters Meeting. Thanks, Ravi rk3m@virginia.edu (804)984-0446 (301)513-0565.
